Sony Officialy Announces Xperia P and Xperia U Entertainment Smartphones

Sony Xperia P and Xperia U the latest Sony smartphone in a line of NXT series at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012. Both smartphone carrying a mobile entertainment and each has a great view in design similiar with the Sony Xperia S. The handset itself has a concave back lid which makes the handset a little thicker. The Xperia P and U will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but will get the upgrade Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich during the second quarter of 2012.

Sony Xperia P has a slightly smaller design of the Xperia S but larger than Xperia U. Xperia P Built with body made of aluminum and features a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage, an 8MP rear-facing camera with 1080p video recording. It is brought a 4-inch QHD touchscreen (960 x 540 Pixels) with the support of Sony’s Mobile BRAVIA Engine technology is widely used on the screen of Sony Bravia series television. The Xperia P available in silver, black and red color.

Xperia U has the same specs with Xperia P, powered by 1GHz dual-core processor but the RAM capacity, storage, cameras and screen are smaller. Each just 512MB of RAM, only 8GB storage capacity, 8MP rear camera and 3.5-inch screen. The screen technology is FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) with the Mobile Bravia Engine. Available in black or white color paired with pink and yellow.

Both the Xperia smartphones comes with a VGA front camera, Wi-Fi, HSPA, and GPS. Will be available globally in the second quarter of this year.
