Rugged LaCie has introduced a USB 3.0 external hard drives with 110MBps transfer rate. This is probably the most you want, at nearly 3x USB 2.0 transfer speeds. Hard disk is also shock-resistant and are still able to survive if dropped from a height of up to 7.2 meters. It seems amazing, but you would to throw or drop your own hard disk from that height? Available in May 2010.
